Room by Emma Donoghue

RoomRoom by Emma Donoghue

My rating: 1 of 5 stars

Opening lines:
Today I’m five. I was four last night going to sleep in Wardrobe, but when I wake up in Bed in the darkmI’m changed to five, abracadabra.

Well, I almost abandoned this book by reading the first third of the book.

Then I decided to see what was the point of this book, the real motivation of writing this book.

And found nothing that can justify the author’s madness who must have been inspired by the movie Panic Room (2002) when a woman (Jodie Foster) and her teenage daughter become imprisoned in the panic room of their own house by 3 criminals.

According to a Goodread’s friend of mine, Donoghue was inspired by the Fritzl case in Austria, though she initially denied it.
