Dead Simple by Peter James

Dead Simple (Roy Grace, #1)Dead Simple by Peter James

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Even if this is the firs book of the series with Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, I started with book#5 Dead Tomorrow , then I read book#2 Looking Good Dead.

Since I was curious to learn more about Grace’s wife disappearance, I decided to read the first book of this series.

Even if this topic is mentioned several times along the book, the mystery remains unsolved and it doesn’t bother me any more.

This is the story of Michael Harrison and his fiancée who is buried alive by his friends to play a payback prank on him.

Excellent gripping mystery story, a real page-turner and I liked the way Grace and his team conducted the investigation.

Just as curiosity, Peter James is the executive producer of the recent film adaptation of The Merchant of Venice (2004) among several other 25 productions .

It seems that Dead Simple will have a movie version pretty soon, having James as executive producer once again. To be checked.
