My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A gift from my brother-in-law.
This is the fist book of a trilogy. In this book, the author – a physician – describes his first trip with his wife and their daughter in a motor-home which was a Kombi (VW) adapted for this purpose.
This travel (a total of 12,600 km) started in Rio de Janeiro, then they went to Petropolis, Paraty, Santos, Curitiba, Vacaria, Missoes, Uruguaiana, Paso de los Libres, Buenos Aires, Azul, Carmem de Pataganes, Puerto Madrin, Comodoro Rivadavia, Porto Descado, San Julian, Calafate, Rio Gallegos, Rio Grande and arriving finally to their final destination, Ushuaia.
The author also describes the local costumes of the villages, some interesting historical facts from each visited place as well as the exchange of impressions with other foreign travelers.
Since my husband and I we are planning to make this trip one day, this book is a good guide for this kind of adventure. It seems also the Patagonia from Chile is also quite amazing place to be visited.
Who doesn’t want to visit this kind of place? Cuernos del Paine from Lake Pehoé
