Review:

La Femme au miroirLa Femme au miroir by Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is the story of three women: Anne lives in Bruges at the time of the Renaissance, Hanna in imperial Vienna of the early century, Anny Lee in Los Angeles today.

The author describes their lives. Hannah will be one of the first patient by a Freud’s disciple; Anny will become a Hollywood actress. This novel describes how the stories of these three women intertwine.

They try to find their destinies in three different times with an existentialist search for the meaning of life.

The beautiful cover of this book is “Jeune fille aux gants” (1930) by Tamara de Lempicka which is exposed at Musée National d’Art moderne – Centre Georges Pompidou.
